    Conference Proceedings: International Conference on Green and Sustainable Development 2026

    This work represents the proceedings of the International Conference on Green and Sustainable Development, presented at the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa from 8 to 12 March 2026. A total of 171 submissions were received for the conference, comprising 73 Work-in-Progress submissions, 78 Full Paper submissions, 15 PhD Colloquium submissions, and 5 Innovation Showcase submissions. Following the double-blind review process, a total of 157 submissions were accepted for inclusion in the conference Programme. For the Full Paper track, of the 78 submissions, 67 were accepted with 11 rejections and withdrawals combined. 52 papers were included into the conference Programme. Following the presentation process and final editorial review, 28 papers were included in the official conference proceedings, while 10 high-quality papers were selected for publication in partner journals. A total of 29 accepted full papers were excluded from the proceedings due to nonattendance, primarily linked to funding and travel constraints. The PhD Colloquium and Innovation Showcase tracks achieved full participation, with all accepted submissions presented during the conference Programme.

Hosted by the North-West University (NWU) Business School, the conference is presented in partnership with the University of Kigali (Rwanda), University of Fort Hare (South Africa), Tshwane University of Technology (South Africa), and KCA University (Kenya).

    Strategic Plan 2025 - 2029

    As the University embarks on the construction of its new campus, a high-level strategic decision was taken to transform UoK into a Green University. It was felt that this decision alone would have substantial implications on the overall strategy of the University. Equally, the time was right to advance the vision of an engaged university—both internally and externally—while strategically embracing its responsibility for a sustainable future for all, more strategically.
